Google says "A friend is a person with whom one has a bond of mutual affection, typically one exclusive of sexual or family relations". I believe every individual have their own definition of a friend. In fact some like me even have classification of friends :)
For me a friend is one with whom I have mutual affection(as google says) and like spending time with and most importantly with whom I am always comfortable the way I am.
I remember one of the Airtel's Ad "Har ek friend zaruri hota h" . I find this Ad very appropriate. We make so many friends in our whole life , each person different from another but everyone have their own importance in our lives. In my case too I have varieties of friends - Some are my cool buddies with whom I like to hang out and have fun without really discussing my personal matters; Some are the ones with whom I may not go out often but I share all of my problems and seek advice because I know they have my best interests at heart ; a few are both my cool buddies as well as my problem solvers.
Friends no doubt make our living enjoyable. I feel lucky to make so many lovely friends during different phases of my life.
My 3 school buddies - Ashita, Pihu and Pankhi. After we completed our school, we chose different fields and went to different states to chase our dreams. In our busy college life we could hardly talk to each other. I use to meet them once a year(during my vacations) only for 2-3 hours but within those hours we could discuss all that happened in our lives. We did have hard times, we did fight but we overcame all obstacles and still are the best buddies. With them I learned "True friendship is not being inseparable , its being separated and nothing changes".
Then I made some good friends in my college. I met Dishni in my first day of college and within few days we became very good friends. People started thinking we were siblings as they use to see us together from the first day. My first year was one of my best days of college. I could never think that I could ever fight with Dishni. But then during our 2nd year we started having some differences and she moved on with her new friends. I was all alone and I realized I did not even think of making any other friend when I had her. Today, we don't share the same friendship as our first year but we are still friends. This is because we still care about each other and strangely both of us miss that time which can never be brought again. She often says she regrets what she did to our friendship but I am happy at least we are still friends. A broken friendship can be a comma or a full stop .We choose.
Strangest kind of friendship I ever developed was with my roommate Ruchika with whom I shared room for 4 years of my college. During our initial days, we could hardly talk to each other. This was because I already had Dishni and use to be with her most of the times. But when I had one of the dark phases of my life in college (Dishni and me started fighting) and use to remain grounded in my room, a special type of bond started developing between me and Ruchika. I never thought I could even like her because I found her very arrogant but now she is one of my best friends with whom I share almost all of my secrets. Friendship is not a big thing; its a million little things.
After I finished my college and started doing job, I became friends with Shailesh, Nimshi, Komal and Sakhir. They are not like my usual friends. Hanging out with them does not mean exploring places or having good food but it means just being with each other -talking, teasing and gossiping often outside our house or in a park. They are my worst critic with the best of humors. I bet no one ever made so much fun of me as they do . :( ... But the thing is I like spending time with them because whatever they do they are honest and true. They will discuss about all my problems and give advises but after its done they will start making fun of it. They taught me Real friends don't get offended when you insult them. They smile and call you something even more offensive.
But till date my Bestest friend is only one - the one who is also my first love(as I mentioned in my first blog ). He is the only one who knows me in and out. By this what I mean is, he knows each and every thing in details, about every feelings of mine - my fear, my dream , my strength, my weaknesses. He is one of my critic but my biggest admirer. A Best Friend isn't someone who is just always there for you. It's someone who understand you a bit more than you understand yourself.
I met different people in my journey of life , made many friends - some stayed and became good friends(I mentioned about them in this blog), some moved on and had new friends. But this is what life is all about : meet new people, make new friends, some stays, some says good bye but life goes on. Only one thing is constant in our life that is "Change". Even in this constantly changing life we do make some good friends who stays for lifetime. I am proud to have such good friends who made my life wonderful and worth living.
Friends are most important ingredient in the recipe of life.....
